Andra Day and Andi Matichak
Cassandra Monique Batie aka Andra Day is a American R&B/Soul musician and singer. She has won the Grammy Award, Children's and Family Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award are just a few of her many awards she's received. The singer was also nominated for an Academy Award. Andra Day is a talented and powerful artist. It's not like she's a throwback R&B expert, but her experience in gospel jazz as well as the blues are evident and translates into contemporary music. The album she released her debut Cheers to the Autumn (2015) was an immediate record in the hiphop/R&B genre which earned her a variety of Grammy and Academy Award nominations. Stand Up for Something (2017), her contribution to Marshall's soundtrack was awarded both of these awards. Amen, Make Your Troubles Away and The United States Versus Billie Holiday each have singles creating anticipation ahead of the release of her new album. Andra Day has been born Cassandra Monique Batie, in Edmonds Washington. She grew up around San Diego and the metropolitan area. There she sang in churches and enrolled in The School of Creative and Performing Arts. As she grew up she listened to modern R&B music and then pop. However, her heart was always drawn to classical soul and jazz singers. Kai Millard Morris recorded a performance of Day which she later shared with her husband Stevie Wonder some of Day's material. The Motown legend in turn connected Day with veteran of the music industry Adrian Gurvitz. Allied to Gurvitz and Jeffrey Evans' Buskin label Day gained a large Youtube following before signing to major label Warner Bros. n 2012 Day dropped her first single Forever Mine on YouTube. The song was immediately taken up by DJs and they began broadcasting it to the radio. In the year 2015, following her signing with Warner Bros. Records she began working on her debut album, Cheers To The Fall featuring Adrian Gurvitz. Album included single Rise up, which was adopted as a anthem for the social justice movement across the globe. Day was awarded two Grammy nominations for the album including Best R&B Album. The United States Versus Billie Holiday was her second album which was released in 2019. It was an album that was conceptually based on the life of Billie Holiday. The United States against Billie Holiday came out in 2021, the year that she also appeared in the film Holiday. Andi Mathichak was born in the United States. Her first appearance was on television series such as 666 Park Avenue, Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods prior to making her feature film debut as Allyson Nelson in the film horror series Halloween as well as its sequels. Andi matichak is an American actress who was born 03 May 1994 Framingham in Massachusetts.
